Ingredients
Scale
- 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls work best)
- 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into 12 small pieces (or 12 frozen breaded chicken tenders)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup hot sauce (such as Sriracha or Frank’s RedHot)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup shredded lettuce or coleslaw mix
- 12 pickle slices
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (optional for bun spread)
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook the Chicken
If using fresh chicken, season the pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Pan-fry or bake the chicken at 400°F until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. If you are using frozen breaded chicken, cook them according to the package instructions until they are golden and crispy. - Step 2: Prepare the Spicy Honey Glaze
In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the honey, hot sauce, melted butter, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth. You can heat the mixture for 30 seconds in the microwave to make it easier to blend if the honey is thick. - Step 3: Sauce the Chicken
Place the cooked chicken pieces into a large bowl. Pour about three-quarters of the spicy honey glaze over the chicken and toss gently until every piece is thoroughly coated in the sticky sauce. - Step 4: Assemble the Sliders
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom half on a baking sheet. Place one piece of glazed chicken on each bun bottom. Top with a pickle slice and a small amount of shredded lettuce or coleslaw. If desired, spread a little mayonnaise on the top bun halves. - Step 5: Final Bake and Serving
Place the top buns over the chicken. Brush the tops of the buns with the remaining spicy honey glaze. Place the sliders in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes just to warm the buns and set the glaze. Serve immediately while warm.
