Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup whole milk (or oat milk for a dairy-free option)
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (ensure it is not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup strong brewed hot coffee or 2 shots of espresso
- Whipped cream and extra spice for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, pumpkin puree, and sugar. Stir constantly to ensure the mixture doesn’t scorch on the bottom of the pan.
- Once the milk mixture is hot but not boiling, whisk in the pumpkin pie spice and the vanilla extract. Continue to heat for about 1 minute until the spices are fragrant.
- Using a handheld milk frother or a wire whisk, froth the pumpkin milk mixture until it becomes light and foamy. If you don’t have a frother, you can carefully pulse it in a blender for a few seconds.
- Pour your hot brewed coffee or espresso shots into a large mug. Slowly pour the frothed pumpkin milk over the coffee, holding back the foam with a spoon and then topping the drink with it at the end.
- Top your latte with a generous dollop of whipped cream if desired. Sprinkle a little extra pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon on top for a beautiful finish.
