Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in heavy syrup
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or a little bit of butter to ensure the cobbler doesn’t stick to the sides.
- Pour both cans of sliced peaches, including the heavy syrup, directly into the prepared baking dish. Spread them out so they form an even layer across the bottom of the pan.
- Evenly sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the top of the peaches. This adds a warm, spicy note that perfectly complements the sweetness of the fruit.
- Open the box of yellow cake mix and sprinkle the dry powder evenly over the peaches. Use a spoon or your hands to gently level the mix, but do not stir it into the fruit. You want the cake mix to sit right on top.
- Place the thin slices of butter on top of the dry cake mix. Try to cover as much of the surface as possible. As the butter melts in the oven, it will soak into the cake mix to create the crust.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes. The dump cake is done when the top is a beautiful golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling up around the edges. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
