Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large ripe mangoes (Ataulfo or Kent varieties work best)
- 1/2 cup Chamoy sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
- 3 tablespoons Tajin Clásico Seasoning
- 2 fresh limes, juiced
- Optional: 4 Tamarind candy straws (Banderillas)
- Optional: Fresh mint for garnish
Instructions
- Start by peeling the mangoes using a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife. Slice the flesh away from the flat inner pit. Cut the mango into bite-sized cubes or long, thick spears depending on your preference for the cup layout.
- Take four clear glasses or plastic cups. Dip the rim of each cup into a shallow dish of chamoy sauce, then immediately dip it into a dish of Tajin seasoning. This creates a flavorful, spicy-salty rim that enhances every sip or bite.
- In a medium mixing bowl, toss the mango chunks with half of the lime juice and a generous sprinkle of Tajin. This ensures that even the fruit at the bottom of the cup is well-seasoned before you start layering.
- Drizzle a tablespoon of chamoy into the bottom of each rimmed cup. Add a layer of mangoes, followed by another drizzle of chamoy and a sprinkle of Tajin. Repeat the layers until the cups are full.
- Squeeze the remaining lime juice over the top of the cups. Add one final drizzle of chamoy and a dusting of Tajin. Place a tamarind straw into each cup and serve immediately while the fruit is cool and fresh.
