Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup broccoli, steamed
- 1 carrot, julienned
- Green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Be sure to break up the meat as it cooks for even browning. Once browned, drain the excess fat.
- Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and fragrant.
- Ensure that the beef mixture is well coated with the sauce and is sizzling nicely. The aroma from the garlic and ginger should fill your kitchen at this point, enticing everyone nearby!
- To serve, place a generous portion of cooked rice into bowls. Top with the flavorful beef mixture, steamed broccoli, and julienned carrots. Don’t forget to garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkling of sesame seeds for that added crunch and flavor.
Notes
Customize with other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas. For spice, add chili flakes or gochujang.
