Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large English cucumbers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons Everything Bagel seasoning
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill or chives, finely chopped
- Optional: Small pieces of smoked salmon or halved cherry tomatoes for topping
Instructions
- Wash the English cucumbers thoroughly and pat them dry. Use a sharp knife to slice the cucumbers into rounds that are about half an inch thick. If you prefer a more decorative look, you can partially peel the cucumber in long strips before slicing to create a striped pattern on the edges.
- Lay the cucumber slices flat on a paper towel. Gently pat the tops with another paper towel to remove excess moisture. This is a crucial step to ensure the cream cheese stays in place and the bites do not become watery or slippery.
- In a small bowl, stir the softened cream cheese until it is smooth and creamy. If you want extra flavor, you can fold in half of the chopped fresh herbs. For a professional look, transfer the cream cheese to a piping bag fitted with a star tip, or simply use a small spoon for a rustic finish.
- Place a dollop or pipe a small swirl of cream cheese onto the center of each cucumber slice. If you are using optional toppings like smoked salmon or tomatoes, place a small piece on top of the cream cheese now.
- Generously sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning over the top of each bite. Finish with a small pinch of fresh dill or chives for a pop of color and extra freshness. Serve immediately for the best texture.
