Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tube (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with included icing)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Optional: Fresh berries and maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- Open the tube of cinnamon rolls and set the icing container aside for later. Take each individual cinnamon roll and cut it into four equal quarters. This creates the perfect “bite-sized” pieces that will cook evenly and develop a great crust.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Make sure the eggs are fully incorporated so there are no streaks of white or yolk remaining in the mixture.
- Place the cut cinnamon roll pieces into the egg mixture. Gently toss them around until every side is well-coated. Do not let them soak for too long, or the dough may become too soft and fall apart; a quick dip is all you need.
- Melt the butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is bubbling, add the coated bites in a single layer, making sure not to crowd the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, turning them frequently until all sides are golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
- Remove the bites from the pan and place them on a serving plate. Warm up the included icing for about 5-10 seconds in the microwave to make it pourable. Drizzle the icing generously over the warm bites and serve immediately.
- Cook Time: 25 minutes
