  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, or oat milk)
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 medium apple, chopped or grated
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional, for extra thickness)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a mason jar or a small sealable container, add the old-fashioned rolled oats, chia seeds, ground cinnamon, and a tiny pinch of salt. Stir them together so the spices are evenly distributed throughout the oats.
  2. Pour in your chosen milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir the mixture vigorously with a spoon to ensure there are no clumps of yogurt or dry pockets of oats at the bottom of the jar.
  3. Core and chop your apple into small, bite-sized pieces. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can grate the apple instead. Fold the apple pieces into the oat mixture until they are well incorporated.
  4. Secure the lid tightly on your container. Place the jar in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, though leaving it overnight is best for the creamiest texture. During this time, the oats and chia seeds will absorb the liquid and soften perfectly.
