Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned oats)
- 2/3 cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, or oat milk)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/2 medium apple, finely diced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Wash and core your apple. You can leave the skin on for extra fiber or peel it if you prefer a softer texture. Dice the apple into small, bite-sized pieces so that every spoonful of oats has a bit of fruit.
- In a mason jar or a medium-sized bowl, add the rolled oats, chia seeds, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir these dry ingredients together to ensure the cinnamon is evenly distributed.
- Pour in your chosen milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir the mixture thoroughly, making sure no clumps of oats or chia seeds remain at the bottom of the container.
- Gently fold the diced apples into the mixture. If you like a bit of crunch, you can save a few apple pieces to add as a topping right before eating in the morning.
- Seal the jar with a lid or cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, though overnight is best. This gives the oats and chia seeds enough time to soak up the liquid and soften.
